The bottle must be cleaned before the very first use with clean water, rinsing the carbon filter, and reassembling. The first few sips of water will take extra suction as water moves through the filter for the first time but will ease after continued use.
For daily use, unscrew the cap and fill the bottle with water. Place the cap back on the bottle and drink from the mouthpiece. Water is purified as it moves through the mouthpiece. When finished drinking, blow air through the mouthpiece to remove extra water from the filter, and extend the life of the filter. When filling the bottle, make sure to keep the cap and mouthpiece away from contaminated water.
